Siobain Bonfield

Clinical Psychologist

Siobain is an experienced Clinical Psychologist that has worked in both public mental health and private practice. She completed the post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology training at the University of East Anglia (UK) in 2005 and specialised in working with adults and young people with experiences of trauma and psychosis, before moving to Australia.

Since living in Australia, Siobain has worked in public mental health settings and private practice with adults and young people experiencing mental health problems or psychological difficulties. She specialises in the treatment of people with experiences of complex trauma and who may have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder or psychosis.

Siobain has additional psychotherapy training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Following assessment,

Siobain’s training and experience means that she can draw on a range of evidence-based models to inform her practice. Siobain works collaboratively with clients to develop a psychological understanding of their difficulties and draws on a range of evidence-based models to inform the treatment approach. Central to her practice is providing a safe psychological and relational space from which all treatment is grounded.
